How do I use the optical input and output on my G5 with DP?
You can use your G5's built-in digital optical input and output with DP.
- Go to Audio MIDI Setup, and choose Built-In Audio from the "Properties From" drop-down menu.
- Choose "Digital In" from the Input Source drop-down menu.
- Choose "Digital Out" from the Output Source drop-down menu.
- In Digital Performer, go to Setup > Configure Audio System > Configure Hardware Driver. Choose "Built-In Audio" and press OK.
Note that the G5's optical I/O is stereo optical S/PDIF, sometimes called TOSLink. It will not transmit or receive ADAT lightpipe.
