Can I send DTS or AC-3 surround though the optical I/O on my MOTU interface?
The optical I/O on MOTU interfaces are ADAT lightpipe or TOSLink (optical S/PDIF). DTS and AC-3 are surround formats which are encoded to transmit over two channels. The optical ports on MOTU interfaces do not transmit or pass DTS or AC-3.
