Can I use my Digidesign LE Hardware with Digital Performer 4?
You can use your Digidesign hardware in Digital Performer 4 under the MOTU Audio System (MAS) using Digidesign's CoreAudio driver.
In Digital Peformer 4, any interface with a CoreAudio driver can be used. Digidesign does have a CoreAudio driver for their LE and TDM hardware.
After installing the driver, we recommend launching the Digidesign CoreAudio Setup, located in /Applications/Digidesign.
- Click the Supported Applications button and remove Digital Performer.
- Then add DP again to the list.
- Restart the computer and you will be able to use Digidesign's LE hardware (as well as TDM hardware should you choose) under the MOTU Audio System.
Note that with Digital Performer 4.12, we recommend using version 6.4 of Digidesign's CoreAudio driver. Under DP 4.5, we recommend 6.5.2 (or higher). Also, with version 6.5.2 or higher the driver is multi-client, meaning that you no longer need to follow the above process of adding DP as a supported application.
