Hard Drive Requirements or recommended drives for SCSI based Macs (Beige G3 and earlier):

The only Speed Requirement we ask for is an access speed of 12ms or less. Most AV rated drives will have an access rate of 9ms. We recommend SCSI drives for better performance although IDE drives will work if you already have one in your Mac. We also recommend an external drive or at least one internal SCSI drive dedicated to audio. This takes strain off your internal SCSI bus and it is also easier to maintain and defragment your dedicated audio drive or partitions when needed. Some customers also invest in SCSI Accellerator cards. This will increase performance by taking more strain off the processor, but it is not required.
