Problems with MOTU audio system and Digidesign hardware, or DAE not finding the hardware in Digital Performer error -6011r
The DigiSystem INIT is not a multiclient driver, meaning once it's claimed by another resource, the MOTU audio system can no longer claim it.
If you're getting a message like:
"Could not synchronize. Make sure that you have the same driver selected for input and output in the Sound Manager configuration dialog. (MOTU Audio System Mas SM Driver.cpp, 1336 [56:1])"
or "Error - 6011"
...when attempting to access MAS, or a "no Digidesign hardware installed" message when attempting to access DAE, turn the Digi sound manager driver off in the sound control panel. To do this:
- Go to the apple menu/control panels/sound control panel.
- For both sound in and out choose "Built-in".
- Restart.
If the problem persists, go to the system folder/preferences folder and trash the DigiSetup file and restart. With earlier versions like DAE 2.96, the DigiSetup file is in the root of the system folder.
