Every time I launch DP, I get a message saying the MOTU Audio System reported an error, or that my command bindings are being updated

This may be due to corrupt preferences.

First, this may be a valid error. If your audio interface is not online, the MOTU Audio System (MAS) will report an error. Please verify that the latest drivers for your audio interface are installed, and that the interface is powered on and recognized by your computer.

If so and you are receiving these messages, it may be due to corrupt preferences. Quit Digital Performer and go to your Users folder and open your user's home directory. Then go to Library/Preferences/Digital Performer.

  • If every time you launch DP 4 you are receiving a message that the MOTU Audio System has reported an error, locate the file named "MOTU Audio System Prefs" and drag it to the Trash. Empty the Trash and re-launch DP 4. If you still receive this message, go back to your DP preferences folder and drag both the "MOTU Audio System Prefs" and the file named "Preferences" to the Trash (and empty the Trash).
  • If every time you launch DP 4 you are receiving a message that your command bindings are being updated, locate the file named "Command Bindings" and drag it to the Trash. Empty the Trash and re-launch DP 4.
