How do I hear the metronome click through my audio interface?

In Digital Performer 4.0 - 4.52 or AudioDesk 2, open the Click & Countoff Options, found under the Studio menu. For "Source of click", choose Internal. Configure the rest of the settings as you would like them, and press OK.

Next, go to the Setup menu and choose "Open Audio MIDI Setup ..." and set the Default Output to be your audio interface. For MOTU audio interfaces, launch the MOTU FireWire (or PCI) Audio Console, and set the default output to the pair you monitor from, such as "Main Out 1-2" or "Analog 1-2".

In DP 4.6 and higher, the "Internal" option is replaced with "Audio". You can choose an audio file for your click, and then route the click output to any output bundle. See the DP 4.6 Update Notes for details.
