MOTU Audio Console Error Message Appears after Installing Driver v3.6.8.1416

An unexpected error message sometimes appears when opening MOTU Audio Console under 64-bit Windows.

After installing version 3.6.8.1416 of the MOTU FireWire and USB audio interface drivers for 64-bit Windows, the MOTU Audio Console program sometimes presents an unexpected error message that warns the user about FireWire bus bandwidth usage. In most cases, the error message is not applicable. This issue will be addressed by a future update to the MOTU FireWire and USB audio driver package.

Until an update is available, please follow these instructions:

  • If you are using Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can safely ignore the error message because it does not apply to those operating system versions.
  • If you are using Windows XP, you should install the Windows XP Service Pack 3 update, which addresses the issue described by Microsoft Knowledge Base article 885222. The MOTU Audio Console error message may persist after installing the Microsoft update, but it can be safely ignored.
