The shamisen is a three-stringed lute from Japan with origins from the pleasure districts in the 17th century. The shamisen is used in the traditional performance of kabuki and bunraku. Its unmistakable, distinct sound can be faithfully reproduced using six different Ethno instrument presets, ranging from fingered articulations to slides to several variations of picked articulations.
