MOTU presents AVB Audio Networking session at AES/LA

At the 137th AES Show in LA this month, MOTU will present a session called "AVB Audio Networking" on Sunday, Oct. 12th at 2:00 PM on the Personal Studio Expo (PSE) Stage located on the show floor. MOTU is offering free, complimentary VIP Exhibits-PLUS badges for full access to the session and the show. Act now: this free offer ends on Monday October 6th at midnight.

AVB (Audio Video Bridging) Ethernet networking technology has arrived and could have an immediate, positive impact on your workflow, from scalable personal studio systems to live touring rigs to larger-scale installations and beyond.

MOTU's new generation of audio interfaces equipped with AVB technology, along with the industry's first low-cost five-port AVB switch, have been shipping since July. These new products are now mainstreaming AVB Ethernet in broad segments of the pro audio market, with their affordable price tag, compelling and complementary I/O configurations, very high quality analog performance, extensive 48-channel mixing, DSP effects, universal computer connectivity through Thunderbolt™ and USB2, scalable expansion possibilities, and high-performance AVB audio networking features.

In short, MOTU's new AVB interfaces deliver on the promise of AVB-driven networked audio for everyday audio workflows. In this AES PSE stage session, you'll learn how this exciting new technology could make you rethink how you manage audio in your studio. You'll learn about the many benefits of AVB Ethernet and the unique advantages that a MOTU AVB system offers.

Highlights include:

  • Complementary I/O configurations that you can mix and match to suit your exact needs
  • Superb analog sound quality
  • Universal computer connectivity through Thunderbolt and USB
  • 48-channel mixing with effects processing that operates like a large-format mixing console
  • Matrix routing and splitting that lets you send any input to any output (or multiple outputs)
  • Stand-alone mixing
  • Wi-Fi control of device settings (like preamp gain), routing, and mixing
  • Web app control from any browser on any platform, including iOS and android devices

AVB networking highlights will include:

  • AVB as an open industry standard
  • Easy installation with standard CAT-5 cables
  • Plug-and-play operation (no configuration necessary)
  • Hundreds of channels (for both network routing and computer I/O)
  • Extremely low, fixed network latency (combined with very low I/O latency)
  • Network-wide clocking and sync measured in nanoseconds
  • One-click clock management
  • Guaranteed "Quality of Service" for all network streams
  • Bridging to standard Ethernet for internet access and Wi-Fi control
