How do I record/print the audio output of MachFive?

In DP4 the easiest method would be to highlight the MachFive instrument track and the midi tracks triggering it and to choose the "freeze selected tracks" command from the audio menu. Logic and Cubase have similar "freeze" functions. Since DP3 does not have this feature, you can bus the output of the MachFive track to another audio track and record it in realtime:

  • Set the output of the MachFive track to an unused bus (e.g. Bus 1-2).
  • Select Bus 1-2 as the input pair of a new audio track.
  • Record enable that track and hit record.

A similar approach may be employed in Pro Tools and other audio applications.
