Please follow these updated instructions to redeem the iLok license code for MachFive 3, Ethno Instrument, or other MOTU virtual instrument product. The license code for your product is still found on the card included in your software package, but the process for redeeming the license code has changed (as of July, 2013).

To redeem your license code:

• If you don't have one already, purchase an iLok from your favorite music retailer. An iLok is required for authorization.


• Launch the iLok License Manager application. If you don't have it yet, download it here.


• Click the "Sign In" button at the top left corner of the window to log in to your iLok account. If you do not have one, use the link to create new account.


• From the License menu, choose "Redeem Activation Code", or click the Redeem button, as shown below (in blue). Enter your code as it appears on the license card included with your product.



• The redeemed license is deposited into your account and appears in your account overview list. To view the list, click your username.


• Click the license in the list to select it and choose "Activate" from the License menu, or click the Check Mark button as shown below.



• Make sure your iLok is connected to the computer; it should appear as an available location in the window that follows. Highlight your iLok and click "Activate". Click "OK" on the next window to confirm.

After successfully activating your license to your iLok, you are able to view it when highlighting the iLok on the left hand column. All licenses assigned to this iLok will appear in the list on the right.
