When MachFive converts my sounds from another format, what happens to the originals?

In MachFive 1.x, UVI-Xtract is used to convert third-party sounds. The originals are left intact, and copies are made into the MachFive sounds folder. These copies are digital so they sound exactly the same as the originals.

In MachFive 2.x, third-party formats are read natively. In some cases it is possible to overwrite the original files (and this may be desirable), but you may wish to create back-up copies or change the originals to read-only to prevent accidental overwrites.
