Text placeholders that update globally

How many times have you decided that you wanted to change some text in your Mosaic manuscript, such as the title, only to realize that you have to change every instance of it in every view? Yikes! What a chore. But not in Mosaic 1.5, which provides a new class of text items that update globally throughout your score and parts when you change a single instance of the text. Have Mosaic automatically generate instrument names in your instrument part views. Change the title of your document once with the new Edit>Title command in the Text menu and have it update in every view - including headers or footers, if you've used the title there. What an incredible time saver! Text items that update are available for title, composer, arranger, copyright, headers, footers, and even custom text items that can be anything you want, such as a project name or client name.

Automated, customized layout of standard MIDI files

Getting your MIDI files ready for printing has never been faster and easier with Mosaic's new MIDI file importing features. Create page layout templates ahead of time to specify in the finest detail how you want your music laid out in your scores and instrument parts. Make as many templates as you like for full scores, ensembles, lead sheets, SATB choir - anything you can think of. When you then import a MIDI file, choose the desired templates from convenient pop-up menus in the Open MIDI File dialog box. Mosaic takes a brief moment to generate a full, printable score and complete set of individual instrument parts, laying them out exactly as you specified in your templates.

Automated instrument mapping

When importing a standard MIDI file, Mosaic automatically maps each track to the most appropriate instrument in your customized Mosaic instrument library. And you can easily make manual adjustments as needed. You can even customize the library as much as you like.
